I'm Chris Ruck, the owner, operator, and creative force behind House of Media KC and its family of specialized brands. For me, life is a collection of incredible moments, and my career is dedicated to both creating the atmosphere for those moments and preserving them forever. Whether I'm behind a camera or a set of turntables, my goal is the same: to tell your story with passion, professionalism, and style.
My Journey:
From Beats to Pixels
My path started behind a pair of turntables. As the founder of Cartunes DJ Services, I’ve spent over 30 years learning how to read a crowd, build energy, and create the perfect soundtrack for life's biggest celebrations. I saw firsthand the joy, the laughter, and the unforgettable connections happening on the dance floor.
It wasn’t long before I felt a powerful urge to not just fuel these moments with music, but to capture them with a camera. This passion for freezing a perfect moment in time led me to the world of photography and videography. I discovered that the same principles apply: understanding people, anticipating the moment, and using technical skill to create an emotional impact.
This dual passion is what led me to create a comprehensive media solution for my clients.
